a road less travelled

Struck out a different trail today. Plenty of blister beetles around.

For those who want to know what these two are up to ... well, I received word from an entomologist that they are - wait for it - mating! DUH! I was fooled by the fact that the female was dragging pictured male (RHS) along as if to say, "Hurry up, or the store will be closed before we get there" sort of thing, you know, the way we women are.
Evidently they do sort of fuse for extended periods of time - a lock & key sort of system. Rather her than me!
