The blip that flew away

This magpie appeared to have made himself extremely comfy by plumping down on a branch, but I thought if I got the camera out I would disturb him, so went inside and up the stairs to see if I could blip him at full zoom out of a window.

It was only as I was clicking the shutter that I noticed the blue arrow on the road sign and realised that if I moved a little I might be able to line it up perfectly underneath him. Unfortunately he heard the click even at that distance, stood up, shook himself and flew off. So this was the nearly blip.

I wondered if he'd been having a little doze while the missus was sitting on the eggs in their enormous untidy nest a few trees away.
