Red Sage

Possibly Salvia microphylla, but I'm not absolutely certain.


This flower is tricky to photograph because the red is so vibrant the details are lost in the over-saturation. I toned it down a bit, but too much gives a blackish appearance that is not like the flower.

I have spent the whole day in the garden, clearing spaces in the chaos, and putting in 30 odd vegetable plants in the greenhouse and garden, and more than 200 bulbs, mostly anemones. I hope they grow. The ground was bone dry in several of the places where I haven't had the hose on. A wetting agent was needed to get the water to penetrate the soil. The daily nor'wester sucks everything dry.
