bad photo but great race

Every picture I took today was out of focus or just dreadful or unusable for lots of different reasons but rather than take an honorable break I thought I would post this just for the friends who use Blip as a means of seeing what we are up to. This is E who entered the junior triathalon today along with his big sister. He is watching the first heats in the pool go off very anxiously. L did really well and E came first in his age group despite having to wear his brother's trainers because I had forgotten he didn't have any. At their age I was too busy watching tv and reading Paddington to do any kind of sport at all let alone an insane sport like triathalon. As an adult I am still dreadfully intimidated by the wiry fit people who run these events but they seem to mostly have fun. I am proud and astonished by their determination and stamina. Heres to the next generation...!

PS Yes he did have a lot of trouble with the idea of a seimming cap but they made him wear it.
