THE FIRST POPPY

Once again I have been flailing about on the home front, trying to get something into sharp focus. No blossom has been left un-snapped. I did catch a black bumble bee approaching this very poppy but without a macro lens he was just a bit of black. This is "straight from camera" as is said on Blip.

So then, this poppy has self-seeded itself in a crack and obviously found some decent soil because the leaves are big and healthy. This is not a field poppy but rather a descendant from an enormous, frilly, double number in deep red. I remember it well.
