Carlsberg Brewery
Northampton is famous for its shoes and its lift-tower, but also, sitting by the canal at the bottom end of town is the Carlsberg Brewery. Along with its sister factory in Leeds, they produce a combined five million barrels of lager a year.
This factory alone can produce enough lager to feed the appetites of all of the Northampton yobbos for almost a whole weekend.
The factory can be accessed via a lovely little footpath that follows the canal. We would never have found this idyllic little spot if it wasn't for the blip assignment to photograph local landmarks. So thank you Blip, for giving us the opportunity to explore some undiscovered bits of our own town.
Obviously, this is not the whole brewery. It's a couple of shiny silo things that are attached to the wall of the factory. These two silos are a very important part of the brewing process.
I think.
