Reiki Symbolism

Monday night is the night I receive my empowerments from my Reiki Master and her Master.

What is all this I hear you cry? Is Dogwithnobrain truely without brain? Nope.

I had a taste of Reiki about four years ago, almost a year after my hysterectomy. I was still suffering considerable pain because the root cause, endometriosis had not been completely erradicated. Someone suggested alternative rather than continue to pump painkillers.

I had a wee session with Diane and didn't quite understand what I experienced but was sufficiently curious to go and experience some more.

Within 3 months I had applied for my first degree and 18 months after that I did my 2nd degree. This means I am qualified to practise. It was never my intention to practise on other people, this was a selfishly motivated move to improve my own well being. However as it turns out Reiki has it's own path for you.

One night most weeks I go down to a local holiday home for children with cancer and their families. Each week I am astounded by the experiences and reaction to what is basically a relaxation therapy and only a taster at that...

Every week it gets slightly more intense and the sheer joy that is gained from seeing people experience this feeling of their body being bathed in light is completely amazing!

There that surprised you didn't it, betcha none of you guessed I was a bit odd that way!
