From the North

The Guides and Scouts of Finland is celebrating the 100 years of Finnish scouting this year. Today was a great day when 4500 scouts and guides from 102 scout troops gathered in front of the Turku Cathedral to start their yearly march to make honour for the scouting movement and the values of scouting. There were great speeches and some scouts were rewarded with the Buckle of Mannerheim for their meritorius scouting.

Actually there were various marches around Finland today but the Southwest Scout District of Finland - where I'm from - had the biggest one. Me and my troop went there at 13 p.m. but we got to be the lasts to start the march - but next year we are going to lead the march! I was wondering like the whole Turku was staring at us, though this was my 10th march, but I must say the only word to describe this event is "coooool".
