Sri Lanka has so much to offer it would take many visits to see even a fragment of the colourful richness of life and culture on this beautiful tropical island. The war and the 2004 Tsunami are just recent painful chapters in a long history, and we saw evidence of both.
This trip was definitely meant to be a relaxing beach holiday that was long overdue for both Mrs Sixthland and I, so we gave ourselves one day to do some exploring and get the tiniest of glimpses. We saw so much, but perhaps visiting this amazingly colourful and exuberant buddhist temple was the furthest from my normal life, and so is today's blip.
