Cherry Blossom

Our village has avenues of cherry blossom trees on its main thoroughfares. As I stepped out of friend Jeanne's car tonight after work we both noticed the first blossoms coming out. They are all the more cherished because they do not last very long, particularly if we get a windy May.

At work we have five such trees close together on the drive. When they bloom they form a beautiful canopy which sheds pink confetti on to unsuspecting students in the breeze. I like to think it makes them appreciate the simple things more....

I shall have to work out how to capture the magnificence of them when they blossom.
