Tewkesbury Abbey
It was a beautiful morning and I wasn't too pleased about "wasting" it driving to Gloucester for a boring meeting. But it finished early and on the way home, I took the Tewkesbury turn off the M5, just on impulse.
I hadn't seen Tewkesbury Abbey before - it's breathtaking. I sat next to a lovely New Zealand visitor in the Abbey grounds and she was saying how she was marvelling at the age of the place. I was just swept away by the sheer beauty.
The photo I chose goes part of the way to capture the blissfulness and peace of this glittering day.
And on the way home, I listened to Mahler (Symphony no 5 - Sir Simon Rattle)
Does life get any better than this ?
