Grillino

A grillo is a cricket, and a grillino is a little cricket. This is my faithful 15 year old cultivator, called a grillo the likes of which can be found all over Italy. It starts first pull of the cord, most times, unless its been sitting all winter and the petrol is stale. And when I stop the engine it lets off a bang like a pistol shot which scares me every time because I forget its going to happen. I have just stopped it on the edge of a patch of rotovated ground to be used for tomatoes in between young olives in the "Ulivetto nuovo" Its a lovely little, much ignored, machine that goes on and on.
