Volca-no

Walking up to the bus this morning, I noticed that all the cars in Maadi were covered in a thick layer of filth. Nothing unusual there, granted, however there was something slightly different about today's filth. The grime, I observed, was a greyish-white colour and had an odd powdery appearance to it.

What could have possibly caused this, I hear you cry!

Volcanic ash?

No. It rained for five minutes.

<pause...sigh>

Even the rain is dirty in Cairo.
