patriots' day
what a glorious excuse for a holiday. patriots' day.
contrary to popular belief, patriots' day is a holiday independent of marathon monday, which was also today.
according to wikipedia: "Patriots' Day (sometimes incorrectly punctuated Patriot's Day or Patriots Day) is a civic holiday commemorating the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War."
so, in your face england.
what does one do on patriot's day? well, one does not have work or class. and therefore, one day drinks. as shown above.
---
what of all those wayward priests?
the ones who like to drink
do you suppose they'd swap their blood for wine
like you swapped yours for ink, for ink
i'm being asked to drink the blood of Christ
and soon i'll eat his flesh
i'm alone again before the altar
shedding all my old regrets . . .
