State Funeral
Two minutes of sirens, horns and alarms marked the start of the State Funeral of the late President Kaczynski and Maria Kaczynska today, and this 21-Gun Salute marked its end. We sporadically watched the coverage from Krakow and had a generally lazy day. Similarly poignant entries for Friday and Saturday's back-blips.
I'm still playing host to the two damsels in distress, who arrived with me last Thursday. Their re-scheduled flight today was cancelled in accordance with the extended closure of European airspace and so they have finally(!) resigned themselves to the fact that they're not going anywhere...until Wednesday, when there are two seats with their names on, on the Eurolines coach to London. I think they're semi-excited about the adventure that lies ahead of them. They'll have seen more of Poland than I have!
