I was down at the beach on Friday with my old Minolta and a roll of slide film and was surprised to see how close the surfers were coming to the rocks. I didn't have the right equipment on the day so I was photographing other things but I went back there this afternoon with my Canon and got out as far as I could.

It was just beautiful watching these guys ride the waves as the sun was setting and the Gold Coast skyline made the perfect backdrop. I spent almost two hours sitting on an uncomfortable rock with soaked shoes but I wouldn't have had it any other way :)
