First Election Debate
I took this photo before the debate and am now backblipping. The debate took place on Thursday night. It was the first ever live televised debate between party leaders in the UK.
The polls after the event indicated that Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat leader came out on top. This is partly because both Labour and the Conservatives seem to be offering pretty much the same thing, whilst trying to differentiate themselves by making a big thing of small issues.
I personally thought Gordon Brown seemed the best candidate. He expressed significantly more gravitas and seemed to be a man of substance over image. I also think he is best person for leading Britain out of the current economic downturn, despite having admitted himself this week that he had played some part in causing it by not regulating the banks tightly enough.
