The very small picture

I took quite a few pictures today of things at very close range but none panned out. During one of his visits to my basement office, Mr. F suggested that I do a micro shot of duct tape since my two lenses are duct taped together as they were for the recent dandelion and maple seedling blips.

When I do this-the taping together of the lenses- they become a bit like a microscope and I get lost in examining objects, marveling at details not visible to the naked eye or even a magnifying glass. It's not the nicest way to treat your lenses but until Santa gets me a microscope, it's what I'll have to do.

Well, the duct tape wasn't super exciting...sorry Santa, honey. This is the hooky side of a strip of Velcro, turned flat towards a bright shoplight. Holy buckets, no wonder the stuff sticks.

I love sweeping vistas, the thought of the universe, the bigness of all that is around us but it is the unseen worlds that you can fit on the head of a pin or in this case, hide among the hooks in Velcro that make my head spin.

Speaking of big things...is it just me or has there been more earthquakes since the beginning of the year than...ever!? I knew I shouldn't have watched that blasted John Cusack movie, you know the one I mean.
