¨Vivan Jessie y Sed!¨

This morning I went for a long run in the park by the river and then we took Ryan and Arthur to the bus station. The last two. As we sent them off to catch a bus to the coast and meet up with the others it was like a huge weight suddenly just lifted off my shoulders. Woohooo...Freedom! I´ll miss them all but it is time to move on. Now the cleaning begins....ughh

In the afternoon Senora Alicia insisted on a little afternoon cheers with us. Un wawita beber...as Senora Alicia put it. A teeny little drink. Warm aguardiante and then, surprise! She made more globos for Seth and I. She is a pretty crazy eccentric woman and loves any excuse to party. She is just lonely really, and we all know how that feels. The comedy of it all was almost too much. Both my name and Seth our unusual here and to help people relate Seth always says, Seth,¨Como tengo sed¨. I´m have thirst. And so thats what we got and it just made us both grin ear to ear. Slightly tipsy we watched our globos go up and float away over the city shouting with Dona Alicia, ¨Viva Jessie!, Viva Sed!, Viva los gringos!, Viva!, Viva!, Viva!!!!!¨

To top it all off in the evening we went out to yet another futbol match meeting Chris and some of his friends at the stadium. This time it was a real hometown rivalry with Cuenca facing off against Quito. In the end it was a tie but a close match with Cuenca only tying up the game near the end with a wicked goal against Quito´s giant Argentine goalie. The battle of David and Goliath, and the hometown crowd was loving it. Wrap up the night with meat skewers off the street and cold pilsners at a local cantina and it couldn´t be much better.

VIVA!
