High Plains purple iris . . .
Southerly winds brought moisture ladened clouds from the Gulf of Mexico last night resulting in much needed rain accompanied by a spectacular show of lightening and thunder.
The prairie responded immediately with a cast of fresh green as far as the eye can see. And the flowers blossomed at an explosive pace.
