Race Night at the OK Corral...

.....spectacular day. The weather was 19c with a blue, cloudless sky. There were some last minute preparations with a paint brush for the guests arriving, but otherwise the house is looking good for the summer letting season. Last foray for Sparky this morning because he can't be trusted to come home tomorrow when we're leaving, so he'll need to be shut in after lunchtime.

Stepped inside briefly to watch the Grand National and despite her disapproval of the race (on animal welfare grounds), Nancy won £10 in the hotel sweep. I bought her the winning ticket, but don't remember if I told I had or not in advance. Anyhoo, her morals on the subject didn't stop her collecting her winnings.

The hotel were running a charity race night in the evening. I won £24 in the first race from a £1 stake and was £35 down by the conclusion of business......the only winner is the bookie (and the charity). Fun night with my family though.
