So Far......

......so good.
We were waiting for 30 minutes in the queue to climb up the Eiffel Tower.
Then we got to the first security check - bags opened and frisked.
No problems.
Bit more of a wait, then we got to the kiosk to buy the tickets.
Then to the entrance - more security and scanning.
'Sorry Sir, you cannot go up - you have a tripod'.
They said it was too big.
Then one of the staff set off to get more advice.
Boss arrives, and says it is ok - go ahead.
Yay!
Through the scanner, and they find my 'Leatherman' multi - tool that I carry all the time.
They open it out and find the pen knife - 'Not possible - please leave'.
I suggest breaking the knife blade off, and they don't understand.
So I broke it off by standing on it.
'OK - you can go'.

So we managed to get through eventually.

It was a lovely day which we enjoyed very much.
