Prickly Pear

Out in country again today, walking through the scrub keeping a wary eye out for basking rattle snakes; it is a little early for them but apparently if the sun is hot enough they come out and catch some rays. After West Cork everything is very very brown and seems almost dead, but the locals are thrilled at how GREEN things are! This is a Prickly Pear Cactus.

The weather is hot but calm - there is chance of 1/2" rain tomorrow - yay!
