WR 1818

Woke up to another beautifully sunny day.

So as planned, we decided to go for a run to the East Neuk of Fife. The little fishing villages there are just gorgeous.

With the picnic made up, car packed and GG on board we set off to the coast.

However, the closer we go the more cloudy it seemed to be getting until as we got to Leuchars we hit the haar! Yes the famous North Sea fog had sent the temperature down to below 10C.

A quick u-turn and we were heading back into the sunshine and through Fife to Falkland. There we scoffed our picnic and Breagha, Mrs T, Scott and me went for a walk up in the Lomond Hills. Even with the haze in the air the views were spectacular.

Spotted a couple stones up there with WR 1818 carved into them. I had originally assumed they were something to do with William IV, but it turns out he didn't come to the throne until 1830. Seems in fact they may be something to do with the setting of land boundaries under the supervision of a certain Sir William Rae.
