I never realized that you can't book a return flight and not turn up for the first flight as they will cancel the second flight as well. According to the KLM lady "everybody knows that". She said I am free to book the same flight I had booked already for only 550 Euros... After some not very quietly spoken remarks from my side she agreed to book another set of return flights for 330 Euros for me.
Damn.
