Beans
Jack and Erin planted runner beans a few weeks ago at one of their toddler clubs. They were put into clear plastic cups with a paper towel put into the bottom. They then kept them watered and watched the roots grow and the plant begin to sprout and grow. Today they planted them into compost and put them into the garden. They have loved doing it and when my parents came round today they were told all about it.
The marks on Jacks forehead by the way are due to the poor little soul getting stuck between 2 beach huts today. They run between the row of them and pop out at different places but one of them was on an angle and Jack got properly stuck. He was there a good few minutes and was hysterically crying. Managed to get him out by Darren holding his head up so he could get his footing back and then finally managing to get him to squeeze himself backwards. He and I were both in tears by the end. All fine now and he quite happily told Grandma and Grandad all about it. We even laughed about it but it really wasn't funny at the time and I think he is going to have some impressive bruises.
