The Debate Goes On. My room101

Year on year the debate goes on. Are A -Level Exams getting easier? If they are not, good, they should not be. If they are who is going to admit it?
Every year copious amounts of newsprint is wasted on printing league tables. To what end? Fine some schools are getting excellent results but so they should be when considering the ability of the majority of their pupil intake. Other schools look not to be doing very well at all but in fact are doing quite well when the ability range of their pupils is put into the equation. Are any of the articles relevant or do they have any bearing on future standards?
They are certainly guaranteed to send my blood pressure up and I quickly fit into "the grumpy old women "category.
