Old Turkey, new Turkey: Simit boy in internet cafe

In the Old Yogurt Bazaar in Diyarbakir I found an internet cafe with shiny new state of the art computers, and spent a happy hour there. While I was there, drinking tea and catching up with my email, a 'simit boy' came in to see one of his friends. Simits are ubiquitous in Turkey: chewy rolls with a hole in the middle, covered with sesame seeds - rather like bagels. Everywhere you go in Turkey there are little boys with trays of simits on their heads, shouting 'Simit!' at the top of their voices. I bought one from the simit boy in the internet cafe and ate it while drinking my tea.
