Muertos

I love dark folk art from Mexico and New Orleans. Dark, yet somehow festive and fun, it makes me happy. I am especially fascinated by skeletons, especially Dia De Los Muertos figures like this one. After sharing with them my love for these characters, my in-laws gave me three of the figurines last Christmas. This one is my favorite. After a brutally long and stressful day at work, I felt somewhat dead myself, making this image seem appropriate for today.
