The Pond

About 6 years ago we dug a hole out in the meadow to drain our rain water in to it.
Over the years it has developed in to amazing abundance of pond life. The water iris and pond grasses and plants have just appeared from nowhere, and it is full of newts and other pond creatures. It is quite a good breeding ground for dragon flys, but my camera is not that good as to capture them. You can not see much of the water as its level has dropped below the weed. Nature certainly knows a way of adapting the environment to its needs.
