Red Squirrel

The earlier I go for my walk in the morning, the greater are my chances to watch the local wildlife.

Today I was able to watch this Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) for some time. There are quite a lot of the around, but they are very shy, and you have to stand very still for quite a while to make them come closer.

Fortunately, in my corner of the world the dreaded Eastern Gray Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) hasn't been introduced (so far).
