Imagination is more important than knowledge

Imagination is more important than knowledge
Albert Einstein

I have a feeling I used that quote before, probably on another blip involving Charlotte and Michael!

We decided this morning that we were going to have a day in as Michael is working on Puppet-stuff* and I had a review to write. We also realized that Charlotte hasn't picked up a book for a while. I left Michael to be the heavy today with ensuring Charlotte managed to start writing a story. Her last school report indicated that while impressive with reading and science, she 'lacks' imagination in her stories (my words translated by teacher saying she needs to expand away from girly books).

Michael has a great ability to inspire Charlotte to use her imagination. For example, when she is off ill, he leaves her random words on a piece of paper and encourages a story integrating those words in a story before he gets home from work. It's great as it gets her using her imagination but takes the difficult part of finding what to write about away.

Today was to be one of those days. I wasn't sure what they were doing to be honest but noticed the balloons being moved from the front room (where the tent still resides btw) into the bedroom and office. After awhile, whatever curiosity I had were answered with the balloon-faces (said with a TADA!). What are balloon-faces you might be asking? Well they are characters that can be used in Charlotte's next book. Each balloon has two expressions, usually happy and sad but we also have surprised and a melted snowman just for good measure.

This is what you can when you cross an artist with a balloon and a task.

And of course so much time was spent on character-building, no writing actually took place today. Imagine that.
