Behind the Facade
As I walk the streets of Calgary, I am struck by the disparity between the streets and alleys. Facing the streets, the buildings are clean, well kept, inviting. In the alley, however, the same buildings are covered in graffiti and grease stains; battered doors and crumbling bricks are ignored.
It's the same with the people. Along the streets walk men and women in suits and expensive shoes. In the alleys cooks and dishwashers puff a quick cigarette, watching the street people push their carts full of empty cans.
The alleys definitely make for better pictures ... when you can find a place that the sunlight will reach.
Today is a nice day. Sun is out, sky is a brilliant blue. I am feeling good.
