Hedge

This is no ordinary hedge, this is a Brechin City F.C. hedge.

One of the defining characteristics of Brechin City's Glebe Park ground is this centuries old Beech hedge which runs almost the full length of the open side of the ground.

Sadly the hedge has been threatened by UEFA regulations which state that Brechin's pitch is 3 yards too narrow to meet the competition requirements of the Champions League. See story here.

The reason for my visit was Brechin's game against Dumbarton F.C. The game ended with a one goal victory for Dumbarton keeping alive their very faint glimmer of hope for a playoff place at the top of Scottish League Division 2.
