Pin Oak
Quercus palustris
My pin oak has begun to change colour. I bought it in autumn about 12 years ago. It was the same height as me and I brought it home in my wee car. Now it has grown as high as the roadside power lines. So far it has not produced any acorns, but considering it is a swamp tree it is doing very well on my dry lawn.
The fantail is still coming and going, though not as freely as before. It has been too cold to leave the door open all the time. Now he comes and sits on the door handle and screeches at me through the glass until I open the door.
Nice in large.
