California poppies

I almost made it to the summit of Twin Peaks today but ran out of lunch break. So instead of a blip from the top, I settled for a field of poppies that I passed on the way. California poppies are the state flower and are everywhere right now.

Twin Peaks is not connected with the TV show of the same name, though the surrounding neighborhood is called Twin Peaks. The peaks are the second highest place in San Francisco. There's a natural area surrounding the peaks, one of the few remaining homes of the endangered Mission blue butterfly (I missed a butterfly blip too.)

I may make another attempt up the hill next week.
