Flower Power

Beautiful perfect day. I took a brief stroll in the early afternoon and wandered the block taking pictures of all the wonderful flowers in bloom. This is the "overall picture" I like the best, though I adored parts of many of the others.

I'm beginning to learn the limitations of my camera. I can get good close-up detail but the zoom is rather weak. So birds in the trees don't come out very well while flowers in the grass are much more cooperative.

I'm also finding that I'm facinated with pictures which have interesting light and shadow more than composition or color. Perhaps as I get better with composition and color my interests will change; for now, I can capture light okay, so that tends to be the kind of photo I choose at the end of the day. :)
