Holly Leaves in the Pinetum
The Birds and the Bees
Wind blows silently,
Through the leaves of Holly.
Two magpies,
Dance in the trees.
An assembly,
Of bright flowers,
Sway side to side in unison,
In the breeze.
Branches rub against each other,
As the bees rummage,
Through layers of petals,
To their nectar.
Wings flapping busily,
Tongue extended,
Legs covered in pollen dust,
Petals lay unfolded.
Tall wide stems of wood,
Grow out of a thicket,
The sap is rising
And the branches are distended.
