Port Fitzroy
Our last day, always sad. Every year I come here I love it. Every year I wonder if it will be the last time. It's expensive and time consuming and very hard work to maintain the holiday home.
No roads, boat access only, 3 hours off the coast (by boat). Add to that no electricity, so everything has to be shipped in, and you have to be quite self sufficient. How much longer can they manage it, but every time I come here i always treat it as my last time. Just in case.
So, we left the bay by boat, transferred at Fitzroy to the van, drive to Okiwi, jumped in a place, flew back to Auckland Airport, jumped in a cab, drove to Mum and Dad marina, jumped on their boat, and then started the next leg of the holiday.
Day ended with a camp oven on the beach. Oh yes, how bad, but how delicious!
