Riga - Regeneration

The hotel we are staying in is in an area of redevelopment. Like most former Eastern Bloc countries that I have travelled to, once you get out of the centre of a city there is a mixture of new and old. I think it makes the place much more interesting. I love buildings with faded signage! I try to imagine how it used to be? The building, the people who worked or lived there. the cobbled street, why is it faded? What will it be like in the future? Will it be covered up or even demolished?
