Easter Lily

Easter seemed like a good excuse for a family gathering. My stepdaughter, her fiancé and my mother-in-law duly gathered at our house.

With three cars parked on the driveway and mine being the first one, getting out in the car to take photographs was not an option. And with the temperature reaching 82 degrees, I was not too keen on walking anywhere.

My stepdaughter had bought an Easter Lily for her grandmother, my mother-in-law. My allergies precluded my wife and I from receiving such a gift.

With the Easter Lily literally sitting on my doorstep, it seemed the obvious subject for today.

Pity the United States does not make Easter Monday a Bank Holiday, as in the UK, but that is what you get when you separate church from state. And when you sign a Declaration of Independence, you also forego five weeks annual vacation.

Now honestly, was it such a good idea in hindsight? :-)
