The Golden Orb

After the storm, the sun ... most of the snow has gone now and its a beautiful sunny evening ... nipped out to take some photos of bark and lichen and having snapped a few nice ones was struck by the sun shining on this golden orb poking through the remnants of the snow ... anyway, I got wet breeks and more lying in the snow to take this one, but I'm pleased by the way it turned out even the shadows of the couple of bits of grass on the orb are sharp. This trumped my tree bark photos today. (For anyone wondering what it is, it is the top of our flagpole which is currently lying on the ground having taken a hammering in storms earlier in the winter - it will be up again shortly.)
