Suburbanized Wild Turkeys

In recent years Walnut Creek has been overrun with wild turkeys to the extent that they have become pests. They dig up and eat gardens and leave droppings in unwelcome places.

These two toms were courting some off-camera hens. If you look closely, you will see that there is an arrow sticking out of the one on the left. They may be pests, but I don't think this is a humane solution to the problem. In fact, I am horrified!
