Sqeek Against The Night

We initially went on a foray down the Strand a fortnight ago to identify some of the different rocks used in building construction. The Wellington drew our attention due to the distinctive red granite-type cladding.

However, it also continued to draw our attention after that tutorial due to the compounds available inside. So we agreed to return tonight, after more particle physics.

These two are on the same course as me and both have extremely entertaining stories to tell, perfect for hearing in a corner of a busy pub.

Whether or not the staff are used to hearing such a motley crew discuss why photons have no mass and how flow can be used to explain inconsistencies with dark matter theories, on top of tales of misspent youths in Singapore, I have no idea. The drinks continued to flow, so it didn't really matter by the end of the night.

The cab driver certainly didn't expect a reasonably accurate explanation of the potential usefulness of the LHC when he was hailed, either. But he asked, so he got one.

I bet that goes down well in the late night café with the other cabbies.
