Thoughtful Gifts

Today was my husband's birthday and he received these beautiful gifts from our oldest daughter and her family today...a beautiful bag that she made for holding his music for community band and a new deck of cards with the Disney villains on them. They had called earlier this morning and sang happy birthday to him and we were able to link up later in the afternoon for ice cream cones and a short but sweet visit.

I think he had a delightful day...with many phone calls from loved ones far away...his siblings, a nephew, his parents, our son and daughter-in-law on the east coast who sang him a wonderful version of happy birthday (they sent him a book earlier this week by Bill Bryson) and even a video chat with our daughter and son-in-law from China...with them singing Happy Birthday in Chinese to him. He will continue his birthday celebration with them by going to see them in China in just a few weeks along with our oldest daughter.
