Hilltop

The view northwest from the Hilltop neighborhood of Denver. The downtown skyline is visible through the trees, with the Front Range from the Indian Peaks to Long's Peak ( the furthest north of the 14,000 foot (4,300 meters)peaks in the Rockies) dominating the horizon.

Several signs of spring are apparent. Frist people playing sports, second bright green lawn and lastly the snowy white peaks themselves. The Front Range is most white in Spring and Fall when the snow that falls is wetter and heavier. Winter storns tend to drop dry powdery snow that is wisked away by the strong winds, leaving the highest peaks and ridges only dusted with white. The peaks will stay rather white into June and perhaps early July depending on the season
