Replacing Carpets

What a messy two days!! C&R snr decided to replace all our bedroom carpets with ceramic tiles.

The floors of the rest of the house were tiled when we bought it, but the 4 bedrooms had carpets. I must admit, the carpets are somewhat cosier in our cold winters, but apart from being a bit out of fashion, it is actually quite a job to keep it completely dust free, especially in the dry seasons, and C as well as both the R's are allergic to house dust, which makes this a much better option!

But eisch, what a dusty mess!! Fortunately the contractors know their job and they started yesterday about 10:00 with the 4th bedroom, downstairs and completed it just after lunch, then they started on the main bedroom, upstairs, which resulted in C&R snr sleeping, in their own bed, but in the 'open-plan' pyjama lounge upstairs last night! Eisch, they barely slept two hours, it was just too strange!

Very early this morning, their bedroom's tiling was completed, and the grouting for both rooms done. C and Lillian washed, and washed, and ....... the floors. Quite hard to get rid of the 'cement dust', polished it, carried back the furniture, dusted and polished all the furniture, and tonight everything is back to normal here!! Phew!!!

R jnr's as well as my bedroom will be done after the school holidays, on 12th April! :-(

What a mess to look forward to, and hárd work to fix your room afterwards! And then, the one night in a different room was not even taken into account, hey? I did the cooking and the shopping for these two days, but then, I suppose I will have to be involved in the cleaning up afterwards!! Arrgggh, I am not ooking forward to that!! ;-)
