Cherryblossom heaven!
We hopped on a tram down to the Ferry Building this morning and stocked up on tasty food at the indoor farmers market for our picnic lunch at The Golden Gate Park later :o)
Twas most lovely nosh but we went there primarily because we haven't actually managed to find a proper supermarket yet! We have to soon because we are spending so much money just on food, every time we encounter a grocery store it turns out to be mostly sweets, crisps, booze and cereal...and while thats fine for a day or two we really need some fresh fruit and veg!
Once we got to the park we went to the Japanese Tea Garden. Oh, oh, oh....its so wonderful!!! Just utterly beautiful and cherryblossom everywhere! My idea of heaven....
(well, without all the other tourists getting in the way)
After our lovely picnic by the side of a lovely lake we took a bus to the Golden Gate Bridge and walked right across it. Yes, that's right, I walked right across, voluntarily, and back! So proud of myself :o) I even have the pictures to prove it - so many pictures, in fact, that you could probably feel you were there with me! ;o)
I'm going to try and put some of what Ive taken so far onto flickr but wifi access has been a bit slow in our hotels so far, so we'll see!
ps. we found a supermarket at Fort Mason, a Safeways, so we are now properly, nutritionally, stocked up with lunches for the rest of the week!
