Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Mr. Fun's Favorite

Yesterday I wrote about the F-word, as in -- f-l-o-w-e-r -- I'm trying not to use the word here in Blip because I've discovered this week that my statistics are over the top. So today the F is for Fun as in Mr.

This tree -- the angel's trumpet (Brugmansia) -- in our backyard is his favorite. The blossoms look like they are going to be few this season. So I wanted to capture one before they are gone, and they go quickly. In this photo there are actually two -- one alive and one dead. I choose not to crawl-up through the foliage to remove the dead one.

The tree is a favorite because we purchased it many years ago in Cambria, on California's central coast, when we had seen a Brugmansia tree on the grounds of the hotel where we were staying. At the time we had a compact car, but still managed to put this tree with its large bucket on the floor of the backseat and we drove home looking like we had a garden in our car.

Tonight I am having dinner alone because Mr. Fun is out. Well, actually I am not eating alone. I have 70 student papers with me to keep me company. So I need to excuse myself from Blipland so I can eats, shoots and leaves. No, no, that's Lynne Truss's book title. So I guess I'll eat, read, and grade.

From Southern California, I am wishing you a good evening.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. The update on -- THE PROM INVITE: Well, I've seen the young man twice now, but I've not been quick enough to get to him before he drives away. I have discovered, though, that it was HIS car and SHE decorated it. So when he came out to get into the car, he could not miss that he was being invited to THE PROM. So, maybe I should decorate Mr. Fun's car and put the word PROM all over it. Do you think he'd take me to the prom? Oh I want to go. Getting all gussied-up and going out for a fancy, expensive dinner and then to the dance, sounds like fun. Does anyone agree?

P.P.S. Also, on yesterday's blip I mentioned ~~beautifulblue's wonderful meal. She sent me the link today. Now you too can see what I mean. It looks so delicious.
