Valuable Lesson Learned
Because of the no-wheat thing, lack of kitchen measuring-devices, and general overconfidence, I typically figure out how to make the foods I want as I go along. This works for spaghetti sauce, salad, meat, and pancakes, where too much of something or a missing ingredient isn't a big deal...tonight I decided I had to have oatmeal cookies and learned that baking soda is something you really do need to measure accurately. When I took this I was so proud of the smell I didn't pay any attention to the fact that the cookies were three times the proper size, and actually got halfway through one of the suckers before the detergent taste became overwhelming.
